Exterior Ghost lights

External Ghost Light 

To stat with this I had to open up my ghost light and add some glue because the logo was loose and would turn anyway it wanted. After this I silicone every part I could. So far it's held up.

In the trunk there is a wire already going through a gasket to the lower bumper so I poked through there with my wires.

Ran the wires to the left and up through the pillars. There are 3 clips on the headliner rear that pop out easily. Run the wire through there and to the dome light.

Kept getting different results trying to tap into the 3 wires on the dome light so I shoved my leads into the mounting tabs of the bulb then added lots of solder. Basically tapping right into the leads for the dome light.

This is where the wires comes out of the trunk and into the bottom bumper area.

Find a good spot with some clearance and drill a hole with the drill bit that came with the ghost lights. Should go through 2 layers here. Thread the holding nut on the backside to hold the light in place. Connect and insulate your ghost light wires to the wire we ran to the dome light. 

Reverse Turn Signals

Our goal is to have additional light when going in reverse. To do this we need a 7443 socket and switchback bulbs. You may need resistors if you don't already have the flasher relay upgraded. If you don't your bulbs will blink fast.

Cut the factory socket out with some slack. On the right is the original bulb socket. Had to grind off  all but 2 tabs to get it close the the factory. 

The top is the new switchback. Spice the POSITIVE (green wire) and NEGATIVE (black and white stripe) for the turn signal into the  turn signal wiring. NOTE factory signal wire colors may be different per side. Next give power to the new reverse by connecting it's positive to the positive
(Red wire) of the factory reverse.

Was messing around with putting my faulty front switchback bulb in the rear driver side. Didn't really see much improvement.

Sockets came in so I was able to get one side done. Really happy with how it fills more light space in the tail lights.



Had to shave tabs off the socket to fit better then wrapped in tape to give more grip.

I've noticed when backing up if I hit the flashers they go orange which should be ok since I never have a turn signal on when reversing.

Prius interior light upgrade

In the newer Prius in my last acura there was a mood light on the ceiling aiming down of course. I wanted to replicate this so I wired a led into the same plastic part as the dome lights had to run the wires along the door pillars and roof line and tapped into the glove box light power. This way it only turns on when the headlights are on. While I was at it I put more LEDs in the glove box and lower center counsel near the foot wells.

Brake lights

Had a lot of white LEDs from the last car but white showing through red lenses comes out pinkish so had to get new red LEDs and it's quite the upgrade.

Start by checking you wire length and plan a path. In my case I have to go from the back of the head unit for the RCA sound connection, remote power, and gain to the amp in the trunk.In my case I needed to lift up the armrest
